Why I Like radar detector

For most people the need to get around a ticket is enough of a reason to slow down and (more often than not) mind the speed limits. For the rest of the populace, however, the need to go ever more quicker has impelled the purchasing of radar jammers. While the use of these devises can seem to be a no-brainer, there are some things to know before purchasing one.

Its best to check with your state about if a passive radar jammer is lawful where you live. If it is, you may want to check which models and manufacturers are acceptable and which are not.

Even if you get a speeding ticket, it is still possible to argue your case against the ticket if the proof was obtained using radar.

Newer speed-detection technology uses pulsed laser light (LIDAR, usually referred to as laser detection) rather than radio waves. Modern 'radar detectors' have been modified to suit that technology, by detecting the infrared light emitted by these new detection methods. LIDAR detection is not nearly as dependable as the detection of radar, since the light is much more focused and often aimed underneath the windscreen level, where the detector is typically mounted.

There are many products that are advertised to claim to 'scramble' or 'soak up' radar; many of these scrambler devices do not work at all, and if they do work, it is by emitting a dynamic radar scrambling pulse, which makes the device against the law to operate under in many jurisdictions. There are also LIDAR jammers that are at present lawful all through most of the US, some Canadian provinces and other countries.

First and foremost, you should think about your driving habits to avoid the need for having a radar detector at all.
